Important questions. Reliable information. Stronger local decisions.
Kentucky Digital Infrastructure Resource helps local leaders and communities understand and evaluate significant digital infrastructure projects that impact communities across the Commonwealth. Our goal is to provide practical, Kentucky-specific information so communities can make decisions locally, transparently, and with confidence.

Overview
Understanding the Decisions Shaping Kentucky’s Future
Digital infrastructure is expanding rapidly as businesses, public institutions, and Kentucky residents and businesses rely on growing amounts of computing power and data capacity. Kentucky communities are increasingly being asked to consider projects that can affect land use, utility systems, public services, local revenue, resources, and long-term development.
These decisions are complex. Local officials and residents deserve clear information, access to credible expertise, and a transparent process for weighing potential benefits, costs and tradeoffs.
KYDIR exists to help communities ask the right questions and consider options before decisions are made.

Our Mission
Informed Communities. Stronger Local Decisions.
Our mission is to serve as a trusted source of information for local leaders and communities about digital infrastructure and data centers.
We are not organized to promote or oppose individual projects. We support statewide education and local decision-making by helping communities understand the issues, identify reliable information, and establish responsible processes.

What KyDIR Is - and Is Not
KyDIR is a statewide educational resource. It is not a lobbying organization, a political campaign, grassroots organizing operation, or the public affairs department for an individual developer or funder. KyDIR does not endorse specific projects unless its board expressly authorizes a public position.
When a question cannot be answered responsibly without project-specific information, KyDIR will say so and identify the records, experts or decisionmakers who may be able to provide the answer.
